I'm 66. Decades of travel, not months. I've planned the trips that worked and the ones that didn't. I've made the rookie mistakes. I've gotten scammed once — the listing had no reviews and I should have known better. I've also pulled off the kind of trips friends still bring up at brunch.
After years of people asking me where to stay, what's worth it, and how I keep doing this — I finally started writing it all down. That's what this place is.
Booked Busy Barefoot is travel for women in their 50s, 60s, and 70s who travel deliberately, with intention and taste. Where to stay, what to do, what to spend, and the pace that makes a trip restorative rather than exhausting.
This isn't budget travel. It's not aesthetic-only travel either. It's also not "money is no object" travel. It's the in-between — where every dollar earns its place. The boutique hotel that's $450 a night, not $1,200. The cruise cabin that's worth the upgrade, and the one that isn't. It's the friend who's already been there, telling you what you actually need to know before you book. I love nice things. I also think about what they cost.
I plan obsessively. I travel in community — whether it's one or two friends, couples, family trips, girls trips--the annual Martha's Vineyard ritual that's been happening for years. I tell you what things cost, what they're worth, and when they're a trap.
I make travel content across Instagram (@bookedbusybarefoot, 75K), TikTok (@bookedbusybarefoot, 25K), and this site — where everything lives. Reels, stories, blog posts, a newsletter.
When I'm not traveling, I'm based just outside of Austin, Texas. When I am traveling, I'm probably eating somewhere I should have made a reservation for and didn't.
Past partnerships include L'Oréal Paris, Margaritaville, Quince, Firefly Recovery, and flykitt. Across tracked brand content, I've driven 3,020+ link inquiries to hotel and travel partners. The full media kit lives on the Partnerships page if that's what brought you here.
If any of this resonates, the newsletter is where I write to the people who get it. Where I'm going, where I just got back from, and the hotels I'd actually book again.
